I attended
ECS and EHS a very long time ago. I was not a good student, however I enjoyed
my time there anyway. There were a lot of great people there and we had some
interesting teachers .One in particular was a real character .His name was Dr
Wolff, and he taught mathematics. Maths was a subject I had difficulty
with !!
I remember
Dr Wolff telling me and the class, in his strong German accent, (4C I
think it was) "Woody, if you pass the algebra exam, I will stand on
my head in front of the class!"
Well, some
of the brighter kids coached me and I scraped in with 51%. True to his word,
"Zeke", as we called him stood on his head for about a minute. I can
still see it in my mind today, Zeke in his double-breasted pinstripe suit,
upside down with his baggy trousers up over his knees.
My siblings,
Helen, Penelope and Jeremy also attended, with markedly better outcomes . I
didn't learn all that much, but I believe I had a happy childhood at both
schools,
I 'm
looking forward to seeing some comments from others of my era.
